Like me, you are well into the New Year!
2021 promised to be the fresh start we all needed! Or so we thought…
Most of us feel a sense of a new beginning with each new year, but this year it meant more. Right!?
I don't know about you but for me being able to look at 2020 in the rearview mirror seemed, well...liberating! It felt more freeing than ever to start fresh! Make goals! Plan future trips! Pray that our social, political, and health problems would simply disappear!
Perhaps, it is at this point, almost two weeks into 2021, that you realize your New Year's resolutions haven't quite stuck. Or maybe that the hope of our world returning to normal the moment the clock rolled over to 2021 has not quite lived up to your expectations. It's kinda a bummer. If you feel this way, you wouldn't be alone.
So, as believers of Jesus Christ, where do you find light in the darkness?
How can you live in freedom today, regardless of the date on the calendar? Can you trust God is in control despite the state of the world around us?
The answer to those questions and every question you may have can be found in God's Word.
"Your word is a lamp to guide my feet
and a light for my path." Psalm 119:105
God's Word illuminates your path. It gives you direction, peace, and trust. There is no need to wait until the New Year to start fresh. Today you can spend time in God's Word, then listen and obey His Words! There is joy and blessing found there. That New Years' excitement can be had every day!
"Joyful are people of integrity,
who follow the instructions of the Lord." Psalm 119:1
