What Can You Give Jesus?

Hello, Grace families and Kids! I was thinking about how kids can be a part of the great things God is doing in our world? Maybe you feel like you aren’t able to really do anything because you are a kid! The truth is, God wants to use you, and He will use you if you are available. Being available means when God speaks to you on how to love others, you listen and obey! As I thought this over, I was reminded of a story in the Bible.

There once was a boy who lived during the time of Jesus. We don’t know his name, but we know by his actions that he loved and trusted Jesus with everything he had, not holding back anything. Jesus had been teaching for many hours, and thousands of people, including children, had gathered to hear His words. Soon all the people began to grow very hungry. Their tummies were grumbling! How would Jesus feed thousands of people? Jesus and His disciples didn’t have any food! Let alone enough for thousands of people! We know that Jesus is God, and He alone could provide these people with food for their hungry tummies. Jesus’ disciples found a boy who had five barley loaves and two fish. This little boy had packed a lunch! He willingly gave his food to Jesus. I am sure he was hungry. If it were you, would it be hard to give up your food to someone else? I think it would be hard to do! But this boy must have trusted that Jesus would do what is best and supply his need. Read the story together! John 6:1-15. Jesus performed a miracle! He took those five little loaves and two fish, and after blessing it, Jesus divided it, and it became enough food for thousands of people!! They even had leftovers! God provided abundantly!

Do you have something that you can give Jesus? How can you serve Him today with your life? Maybe it will mean being loving and kind to those in your family? Or maybe Jesus wants you to look for ways to bless others, sending a text to someone who needs to be encouraged and praying for your family and friends! There are many things you can do as a kid! Ask parents to help you think of ways to show the love of Jesus and trust that God will use you for His glory!

We miss you in Treehouse Kids and can’t wait to see you all soon! We are praying for each of you!

Blessings, Tabitha Lee
