A Renewed Mind
From Doug S. Gehm’s Sermon – February 15, 2026

Day 1 – The Battlefield of the Mind
Read: Romans 12:1–2
Transformation is not accidental. It begins with surrender. When Scripture calls us to present ourselves fully and to be transformed by the renewing of our minds, it is inviting us into a process — not a moment. Our thoughts shape our lives. What we repeat becomes what we believe. What we believe becomes how we live.
The world constantly presses us into its mold through fear, comparison, distraction, and temptation. But renewal happens when we choose truth repeatedly. Not once. Not occasionally. Daily. The mind that once defaulted to anxiety can learn peace. The mind that once leaned toward shame can learn identity. Renewal is not about trying harder — it’s about thinking differently.
Application: What recurring thought pattern in your life needs to be replaced with truth?

Day 2 – Grace in Weakness
Read: 2 Corinthians 12:8–9
We often pray for our weaknesses to disappear. We ask for the thorn to be removed. Sometimes God answers with healing. Sometimes He answers with grace.
Weakness feels like liability, but in God’s hands it becomes opportunity. When we come to the end of our own strength, we begin to rely on something greater. The power that carries us is not our discipline, willpower, or performance. It is grace — sufficient grace.
Your weakness does not disqualify you. It positions you for dependence. And dependence is where strength grows.

Application: Where are you fighting your weakness instead of allowing God to meet you in it?

Day 3 – Rewiring with Truth
Read: Galatians 2:20
“I have been crucified with Christ.” That is not poetry. It is identity.
Renewal happens when truth becomes personal. When you stop saying, “That’s a good verse,” and start saying, “That’s who I am.” The old self no longer defines you. The struggle no longer names you. The past no longer owns you.
When you rehearse truth long enough, it becomes instinct. It becomes your reflex in temptation. It becomes your anchor in sorrow. It becomes your strength in weakness.
This is not self-improvement. This is new life.
Application: Choose one verse that speaks to your current struggle. How will you repeat it daily this week?
