The Perfect Ending

From Pastor Bill’s Sermon — March 15, 2026

⸻

Day 1

READ: Acts 1:4–11

DEVO:
There is something deeply uncomfortable about waiting. We prefer movement, progress, and clarity. Yet in this passage, the command is not to act—but to wait. Not because nothing is happening, but because something essential is about to begin. Before any outward work could take place, there had to be an inward filling. The power needed for the journey ahead would not come from effort, but from God Himself.

This reminds us that spiritual effectiveness is never rooted in human ability. It is possible to be busy and still be powerless. It is possible to be active and still miss what God is doing. But when the Spirit of God is at work, everything changes. What once felt overwhelming becomes purposeful. What once felt impossible becomes attainable—not because we are stronger, but because God is present.

Waiting, then, is not wasted time. It is preparation. It is the space where God aligns our hearts, fills our lives, and readies us for what comes next. When we learn to wait well, we begin to trust that God’s timing is not only intentional but perfect.

APPLICATION:
Where in your life is God asking you to wait—and how can you trust Him more in that space?

Day 2

READ: Acts 28:30–31

DEVO:
It is remarkable that the story ends not with limitation, but with freedom. Even in confinement, the message continues. Even within restrictions, the work goes forward. This reveals something important: God’s purpose is never dependent on ideal circumstances. It moves forward regardless of them.

There is a temptation to believe that we need better conditions before we can fully live out our faith. We tell ourselves that when things settle down, when life becomes easier, when opportunities become clearer—then we will step forward. But this passage gently corrects that thinking. The work of God is not postponed by difficulty. It often advances through it.

What matters most is not where we are, but what we are doing where we are. When our lives are open, like Paul’s home, God uses them. When our message is clear, centered on Christ, it carries weight. And when our confidence rests in Him, not in our circumstances, there is a freedom that no limitation can take away.

APPLICATION:
What is one way you can be faithful to God right where you are today?

Day 3

READ: Acts 26:16–18

DEVO:
There is a clear purpose behind everything God does—He brings people from darkness into light. This is not simply about behavior change or moral improvement. It is about transformation at the deepest level. A life once defined by confusion, brokenness, and separation becomes a life marked by clarity, hope, and belonging.

What makes this so powerful is that it is not something we achieve—it is something we receive. Forgiveness is given. Identity is restored. A new inheritance is granted. These are not earned outcomes; they are gifts of grace. And once received, they reshape how we see everything else.

But this transformation is not meant to stay hidden. It becomes visible in how we live, how we love, and how we respond to the world around us. The same grace that changes us begins to flow through us. And in that way, God continues His work—not just in us, but through us.

APPLICATION:
How has God brought you from darkness into light—and who in your life needs to see that change?
