I am an overthinker.
The other day I was in a local boutique with my wife, and I saw a small wooden sign that said, "Hold on... I need to overthink this." That's me! My mind will wander down 100 scenarios of things that could happen, and I start reacting to those thoughts as if they are real!
The great thing is God is in control! And not only is He in control, but we can also count on Him to take care of all those things that could happen!
Not long ago, in the daily scripture reading, I read this:
The Lord your God, who goes before you, He will fight for you, according to all He did for you in Egypt before your eyes, Deuteronomy 1:30
Obviously, I wasn't in Egypt, but God is talking to you and me. He does go before us. He will protect you from enemies or people that want to do you harm. He will keep you and your family safe. He will guide you in what directions you should take. You just need to trust Him.
Is this a blanket of protection from anything tragic or uncomfortable happening to you or your family. Of course not; we need adversity in our life. We need opportunities to grow and learn, and in those times, that's when we need to continue to allow God to go before us!
