Let's FAST!

In anticipation of Easter (April 4), I would like to invite you to join me in Grace Church’s church-wide fast: March 22-31.

In Matthew 6:16, Jesus said: “Moreover, when you fast…” Vine’s Dictionary defines Fast/Fasting as ‘voluntary abstinence from food’. The purpose of fasting is to take some of the time, thought, and attention you typically give to food and instead redirect that time to seeking the Lord. “…to take your eyes off the things of this world to focus completely on God.” “Fasting is a way to demonstrate to God, and ourselves, that we are serious about our relationship with Him. Fasting helps us gain a new perspective and a renewed reliance upon God.” (GotQuestions.org) It is up to each person what you fast from. You may choose to fast from a specific food element like sugar or meat, or skip a meal once a day, or do a complete fast, drinking only water during this time (for more ideas, click the link below to visit our Easter webpage). Whatever you choose, it should be something significant enough to make you hungry for God! It is an exciting time for our church. I am so grateful for you – and I know that the Lord Jesus wants to bless us this Easter! I’m looking forward to next week and you joining me in our Easter Fast.

I am so thankful we get to celebrate “The Resurrection” together this year!
